\nOn Dec. 31, 2022, we skinned up the Wilderness uphill route at Bolton. While admiring the view (and watching my step), I noticed the Sam stone. The snow has been melting at a fast pace the last two days, so I suspect the stone was either just dropped or just revealed as the snowpack recedes. Since my daughter’s boyfriend is named Sam, I thought I might give it to him for his birthday. He is an avid backcountry skier. Now that I know the Sam honored by the stone and the backstory, I am thinking that it might be nice to get more of Sam’s stones for our Sam to disperse on his back country adventures. I’m sorry that I don’t have a photo, my old iphone 6 always dies in the cold! Thank you for keeping your son’s memory alive with these stones.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
