{"id":992,"date":"2009-12-29T15:27:29","date_gmt":"2009-12-29T23:27:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/samstones.org\/WordPress1\/?p=992"},"modified":"2009-12-29T15:27:29","modified_gmt":"2009-12-29T23:27:29","slug":"rifugio-walter-bonatti-italy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/samstones.org\/WordPress1\/?p=992","title":{"rendered":"Rifugio Walter Bonatti &#8211;  Italy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>John..<br \/>&nbsp;<br \/>It&#39;s time for an update.&nbsp; I&nbsp; did find two more Sam stones.&nbsp; Both at the Honey Hollow (Catamount Trail)&nbsp; trail head.&nbsp; One on top of the post and one inside the register box.&nbsp;&nbsp; I am happy to report that I&nbsp; brought the three stones on the Tour of Mont&nbsp; Blanc.&nbsp; I hiked 95 miles with an Adirondack Mountain Club group around Mont&nbsp; Blanc starting in France, and travelling through Italy and Switzerland and back&nbsp; to France.&nbsp; Beautiful trip.&nbsp; I placed Sam Stones in these three&nbsp; countries.&nbsp; The first was placed on a tall rock cairn on September 7 2009&nbsp; between Col du Bonhomme and Col de Croix de Bonhomme France&nbsp; (two pictures&nbsp; included)&nbsp; On September 11, the second stone was placed on the the&nbsp; windowsill of the Rifugio Walter Bonatti in Italy (four pictures&nbsp; included).&nbsp;&nbsp; The final stone was placed in a cozy nest shaped&nbsp; indentation surrounded by rocks in the Fenetre d&#39;Arpette &#39;window&#39; in Switzerland&nbsp; on September 13.&nbsp; (five pictures included).&nbsp; It was a thrill to take&nbsp; Sam with me on this adventure and his spirit lives on.&nbsp; Thank you.&nbsp;&nbsp; Carlene Squires<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/samstones.org\/WordPress1\/wp-content\/uploads\/P9112862.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"P9112862.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/samstones.org\/WordPress1\/wp-content\/uploads\/P9112864.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"P9112864.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/samstones.org\/WordPress1\/wp-content\/uploads\/P9112865.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"P9112865.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/samstones.org\/WordPress1\/wp-content\/uploads\/P9112866.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"P9112866.jpg\" \/> <\/p>\n<p>&#8212;&#8211; Original Message &#8212;&#8211; <br \/>From: John M Cohn <br \/>To: Carlene W. Squires<\/p>\n<p>Email = carlene@gmavt.net<\/p>\n<p>Message = <br \/>I&nbsp; often take my dog Callahan up the Catamount Trail in Honey Hollow. <br \/>We went&nbsp; for a walk on a late afternoon on Sunday, October 18. &nbsp;We<br \/>often stop&nbsp; along the way at a favorite brook so he can get a drink<br \/>and I can sit on a&nbsp; large rock. &nbsp;When we got there, we found a<br \/>Samstone on the rock.&nbsp; &nbsp;I looked at it and wondered should I take it<br \/>or leave it. &nbsp;I&nbsp; thought it was meant to be taken so I took it. &nbsp;I had<br \/>a hunch that it&nbsp; was somehow connected to Sam Cohn. &nbsp;I checked the<br \/>website and it was.&nbsp; &nbsp;I have not decided what I will do with the stone<br \/>but I put it in my&nbsp; pocket and it went on a hike one day now it sits on<br \/>the dining room table.&nbsp; &nbsp;I may take it on an Adirondack trip next year<br \/>to Mt.
