I found a SamStone today at work (the Ben & Jerry's scoop shop in
Maple Tree Place, Williston). I had no idea what it was, my sister
went to the website and did the research. This tribute it so
incredibly touching, and it does spread the love. Sam must have been
one incredible kid, because now, even though I never knew him, I want
to help put SamStones all over. Well done, it's truly a unique and
lovely way to remember someone.

My boyfriend and I went hiking up to Roostercomb Mt in Keene Valley,
NY this past weekend.  We stopped at an overlook of the valley and
took some pictures.  As we were about to get up I said "hey look at
that-a stone with Sam written on it".  We picked it up, examined it,
discussed what we thought it was and decided after much contemplation
to leave it there for someone else to find.  I decided to look up what
it was online and discovered this site.  What a beautiful thing you
all are doing for an amazing young person.  The stone that we found
is resting on one of the most peaceful overlooks with the faint sound
of John's Brook flowing below in the beautiful Adirondack Mountains.

Kirchbuehl – Switzerland

John,

We left a stone in a little village/hamlet called Kirchbuehl above Grindelwald in central Switzerland, facing the north face of the Jungfrau.  Here are some pictures:

Glacier National Park – Montana

Posted by: samstone @ 6:30 pm

We are having a great time here in beautiful Alberta, Montana, and BC.
The weather has been great (High of 25, low of 10, celcius ofcourse :-)…
And the hiking great. We hiked upto a glacier and Anika and Isha has
been enjoying em along with the Grandparents. I had taken several
samstones with me to place it in various national parks. What best place
to place a sam stone than on a glacier. Here are the ones I placed so
far:

In Glacier National Park (At the foot of glacier which we hiked upto):

Hi John,

I went to the Yellow Mountain (a.k.a Huang Shan, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Huangshan_Mountains) in AnHui Province last month for a short vacation. The Yellow Montain is said to be one of the most beautiful mountains in China. I left the Sam stone you gave me at the Bright Summit Peak, among the trees and rocks. Here are some photos.
