I hiked for two weeks in the Philmont Boy Scout Reservation this summer. I left this stone at 11,441 feet on Mt. Phillips. The views there were beautiful. Thousands of boys Sam's age who walk through there every year will hopefully see it and visit this site.

Another peak, the Tooth of Time, had amazing rock formations where our group climbed. One particular spot had a big rock cavern that I was able to climb up to, and place a stone within. Very few scouts, if any, will see this stone, but I thought it was a place that Sam would like.

As I traveled through Europe, Sam was with me.  I was experiencing
amazing new places and often was thinking, does this feel like a
place for a Samstone?  The first place that answered a resounding YES
was Heroes' Square in the heart of Budapest, Hungary.  It is a
Memorial honoring the heros of Hungary.  The monument was huge!  Can
you see the Samstone?  I had to clinb up a few levels to place it!
One is in the lattice work at the base and I threw one up under the
horse as well.  Seemed like a good place for him to stay awhile.

This is stop number two for a Samstone as I traveled down the Danube.
In Wien (Vienna), there were so many amazing places.  I settled on
Schonbrunn Palace, the summer home of the Hapsburgs in the 18th
century.  The Gardens here were spectacular, so colorful, bringing
smiles, like Sam.  There was a private garden that I could see from
the inside.  I really wanted to leave it there.  When Outside, I
found it but it was inside of a fence.  Sam could get in!  So I
tosssed the stone into a bush near the side, happy for Sam to stay
awhile.  Probably the gardener will find it.  Anyone who spends so
much time in these amazing gardens has to have great energy!

Hi John,
I've been trying to post this on the Samstone site and I guess it is too long.  I've already edited it so much.  I can't anymore.  It was such an intense experience.  I may have already edited out the understanding of it…..Maybe you can get it on there for me.

Europe was so amazing.  I can't even begin to tell you how much I loved it.  The people have such passion…for the outdoors, music, art, food, each other…sop much more depth to life.  I think the trip really altered my outlook on life, altered me!  I can really understand how you love to travel and hope to make it happen more in my and my families life.  Lets have dinner and share travel stories!  I would listen to travel talk forever!  I'm getting my pictures together and then you all should come over!  Hugs to you and Diane, Love Amy

Of all the places I left a Samstone on my Europe trip, this one was the most intense , just crackeling with energy.  I was in Nurnberg, Germany.  I came to a commemoration of the U.N. Declaration of Human Rights. The white arch shows the date of the declaration. Each of the white pillars represent a different statement in the declaration. These felt really good, but had no place in which to tuck a Samstone. Nearby was a statue under some trees. The statue was a teenage boy with wings. The amount of energy I felt when I saw it brought tears to my eyes. What Sam is was rushing all around. Of course the perfect little ledge was there to place the stone. I knelt down to take the picture toward the sky. There he was with angel wings soaring through the clouds!   I also placed a stone among some vines on one of the trees by the statue.

Not sure if you remember or not but I had emailed you about the sam stone I had found in New Hampshire. I had sent it on an Artic research ship with a friend. I just got the attached pictures today confirming it has been placed! You can enter the decimal degrees location google earth to see exactly where it is. Here are the coordinates- 81.071778 19.062028

I hope you enjoy the pictures. I included the forwarded email from the people who placed it. Its in german and Im no help in translating it, sorry.

Scott, are you please write a line on the web page?

Ollie

Hallo Olli,
