Plaza San Martin, Buenos Aires – Argentina

Posted by: samstone @ 3:55 am

My freind Jai says:

I placed the first SamStone in Plaza San Martin, a park located in the Retiro neighbourhood of Buenos Aires.  The park commemorates General Don Jose de San Martin, known as he liberator of Argentina, Peru and Chile, The French landscaper Charles Thays designed the upper side of the plaza where the equestrian bronze monument of San Martin is located. This is a very popular park and one can see students, tourists, business folks, readers and children here. The first and last pictures in this set of 5 show different views of the monument, and the middle three pictures show where I placed the Samstone at the base of the monument. Picture #132 shows the best view of the Sam Stone.

tom and i put this stone in chicago in a man made river that flows through the middle of the city… right after i lost my shoe in the water! we also put one by a beautiful river in wayland, new york and on top of the 1,000 ft sand dunes in the Sand Dune National Park in colorado. tom placed it up there right before conquering the dunes on his snowboard. this trip has been a blast, and we’ve been thinking of sam and our friends in vermont the whole way.
