On July 9 Brad & Eileen placed a SamStone in a Seattle park high
above Puget Sound and overlooking the Olympic Mountains.

On July 15 Brad, Eileen and Roz put a SamStone in a “shady grove”
just off the stage of the Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival in Ancramdale,
NY. (42 02 18.45N, 73 32 42.15W). Sam would have loved the spirit and
music of this festival.

The picture I have the stone next to is my late Darius, holding a guitar that had a sticker that said “developers can go build in hell” – they wanted to build over or near Sculpture and some other places at the greenbelt that make it so special.

John and Family,
I placed this Sam stone at the Burlington VT Ronald McDonald House. I
remember that you had told me that you stayed at a RMH in Florida when
Sam was in the hospital there. I am not going to Florida anytime soon,
so I thought the next best thing would be to put one up here where I
volunteer. It is in our flower garden where things are in bloom. It
will rest easy there.

On July 25, 2007, my son Jake and I hiked 5 miles out along the
Skyling Trail in Cape Breton Highlands National Park in Nova Scotia,
Canada. Here the waters of the mighty St Lawrence meet the Atlantic
Ocean – and it is a playland for several types of whales, as well as
moose and bears. We thought about Sam, and heaved a SamStone off to
a spot where the view is unbelievable. Its unlikely anyone will find
that stone, but its a great place to spend some time searching….
RIP SAM!!!

I placed a stone at St. Cyrils in Red Square Moscow.

Tom B put a SamStone on the little mermaid statue in Copenhagen.
I placed a SamStone at St. Francis School near my home..
Today I got a note from my friend Marie Kaminsky and her kids with a picture showing that it’s still there !

Hey John,
The boys and I were out last week near St. Francis and we stopped by to see if the Sam stone was still there and it was!! I took a picture with my cell phone, but couldn’t figure out how to transfer it to email. So we went back there today and again – its still there! So here’s a photo of St. Francis, the Sam stone, Zeb and Luke.
The boys are still wearing their Univ. of So. Miss gear we got in Hattiesburg when we visited my cousin last weekend. The beach at Biloxi had just opened in May, after cleaning up from Hurricane Katrina. I was pleasantly surprised that no one got cuts on their feed from debris in the water – all in all they had done a good job of cleaning up, but I easily found a piece of Formica and blue ceramic tile from one of the many homes that got washed into the Gulf. Hwy 90 that runs along the coast there used to be lined with gorgeous ante bellum homes, which are all gone. Very sad. Almost sadder was off the highway near Hattiesburg there is what I called a FEMA trailer farm. There are acres and acres of them lined up like sardines as the “staging area” for the next hurricane. What a waste. I’ve attached that photo too.
See ya,
Marie
