Tortilla Flat – Arizona

First stop with John (our son who is visiting from Florida) this
morning was Tortilla Flat, population of 6, a 100 year old town
purchased in 1998 by a couple from Indiana. We ate breakfast at the
Superstition Saloon which has very unique dollar wallpaper. I left a
Samstone and a dollar bill in memory of Sam there.  Because all the
wall space has already been covered with dollar bills, I was told
SAM's dollar will most likely go on the ceiling the next time the
maintenance men staple them up.  Next time we go to Tortilla Flat, I
be searching for Sam's dollar bill on the ceiling, but very sure his
Samstone will be found, and hopefully reported by someone.

I took this San Stone to the beach this morning in Venice, Florida. It
is placed in a palm tree next to "Sharky's" a landmark tiki bar. In
the background is the Venice fishing pier and the gulf of Mexico.

Hello, my name is Emiliano Fraga and i am from Colonia del Sacramento,
Uruguay.
I have foun a Sam's stone in mi place, near the foto i attached, in
the historical place of Colonia del Sacramento.
I was hunging out with friends and drinking "mate" (a typical drink
here) and i saw the stone inside a little hole in the old wall, next
to the "puerta de la ciudadela" a really beautifull place.
I saw the web site, and here i am…
I would like to know who left that stone, i keep it at home now, as a
nice memoru 😀

Hope you like my little story, and you like my place too!

Best wishes, Emiliano from Uruguay.

Veterans Day is just around the corner, which reminded me to submit a
patriot placement of a Samstone. Lance took Sam along with him on a
tour of an LST (Landing Ship Tank) in Evansville, Indiana on July 27,
2011.  The ship that he and Sam toured was identical to the ship that
Lance’s father served on during WWII.  After a very interesting
tour, Lance placed Sam on an anchor of this ship, in memory of Sam and
all the troops that landed in Normandy on D-Day, June 6, 1944.
