I put a stone on one of the windows of the church of Bet Giorgis, one
of the rock hewn churches in Lalibela, Ethiopia.

Dear John,
I wanted to let you know I took a Samstone with me to Maine this summer. I placed high up in a stone fire place, to one side where it looks out a window of the lodge over the ocean. It is a quiet, secluded lodge, near Boothbay harbor that I have been going to since I was five. My parents and my grand parents went there too. It may be sold soon and I loved the idea of the Samstone living there.
 
How has this year been for you. I would really love it if your family and mine could sit down and talk. Maybe over soup and popovers. I make great soup and popovers. Any chance we could do that?

I am a freind of Jen/mike kelly and saw them recently in vt. I brougt
a sam stone back home with me. I  live with my 2 sons (7 and 8) and my
partner rusty  upon 20 acres in the sierras fondly known as tahoe.
Truckee CA to be exact. I have placed sam's stone upon a mtn top
where I run frequently in the back country behind my house. Would
love to meet you(parents) one day. I hear you are burners as I am
too, but not too often. I live just a few hours away from black rock.

Jim and I found 2 of Sam's stones at the top of Honey Hollow Rd in
the woods.  They lay together on a boulder next to a beautiful
stream.  We left both stones there, but now that we have found this
wonderful web site and know the origins of the stones, we might go
back and retrieve one to move to another special spot in the woods.
We are constantly in the woods, and on the mountains here in Vermont,
so I am sure we can find a special place to place the stone.  Thank
you so much for sharing Sam's life with us, and I am quite sure we
will think of him often while exploring, hiking, and having fun like
he did.

My daughter used her Sam Stone in a sculpture she did for her art
club.  Every year the kids make "junk sculptures", my daughter made
her sculpture in honor of Sam.
