My students and I watched your TED talk as part of a unit focused on ideas of work and play. One of my students was so touched by the talk that she ordered a few SamStones and gave me one to keep in my classroom. It is a daily reminder to play at my work!

In the garden behind the amphitheater outside of the Niemeyer Honors College Multipurpose Room (Room 150).
Please tell us more about where and how you placed it
Placed in a garden directly behind the amphitheater. To find it, go to the Niemeyer Honors College at Grand Valley State University and find the Multipurpose Room (room 150). Exit the doors outside and the amphitheater is directly outside, with a garden directly behind it. The Sam Stone is relatively centered in the middle of the garden.

This Stone was placed during the World Scout Jamboree on 7/25/2019. There were approximately 50,000 people present from over 100 countries. It was a true testament to humanity in that everyone was pleasant and friendly. I think it is a fitting place to pass on the love of those who are no longer with us.

On the Lenox hiking trail which takes you around the Lenox crater at Sunset crater preserve near Flagstaff, AZ
Please tell us about where and how you found it
My wife and I were hiking on the Lenox trail on July 6, 2019. We were at the highest point on the trail and stopped to take a few pictures. We were there for 15 minutes or so and we were getting ready to leaving. There was a dried out tree and I noticed something white near the top so as I got closer I saw it had the letter “m” on it. Can you imagine my surprise when I picked it up and saw it had my name on it? In that very instant I felt that the Lord said to me I am aware of you. Of all the trails in that area for us to choose that trail and stop at that point was no coincidence. I didn’t even realize there was a web address on the back until the next day when I was showing it to a family member. The Pic of my wife and I shows the spoyt where we stopped. The tree was approximately were the picture taker was standing.

Lake Iseo -Italy

Posted by: samstone @ 7:02 am

Hi John,
I was on the flight from Portland to San Francisco with you around the 4th of June, I believe. I told you I was on my to Italy. You gave me a Samstone and asked that I place it in a nice location . The Samstone is near Lake Iseo along a path for hikers and mountain bicyclists.
It was a pleasure to talk with you on the flight.
I hope you’re having a nice summer. 😉
Aloha,
Josephine

After riding along the canal of Chambly Quebec Canada
We came to the old Fort Chambly on the Richelieu River. There was a large school group playing in the park there.
I put my SamStone on the NW corner of the fort close to the park where the kids were playing.
