I placed a stone for Sam on October 8, 2017 at a historical inn in
Woodstock, VT. While waiting for lunch at the Red Rooster Restaurant,
I walked through the lobby of the inn and placed the stone on a table
set up for a chess game.

I found a Samstone in Bastian, Virginia outside the medical clinic
where I was taking my elderly mother and father to their doctor visit.
It was a bright spot to our day. Thank you.

Hi John,,,,,I hope you’re well and enjoying a sweet summer. All is well here. The summer has been wonderful. Lots of time in the studio, doing house projects, family and on my bike. The PMC was last weekend and it was another glorious weekend. David sent my opening ceremonies piece to the group. I hope you had some time to watch it.
I was in Germany and Denmark in June teaching three workshops and giving three slide talks. Of course I carried a few Sam Stones with me. I placed them where I was teaching and staying. I told the groups about the Sam Stones before I placed them and they stood with me in memory of Sam. I’m sending you pictures of the stones in the places that they rest. Some of the pics are large so I’ll send in multiple emails.

Schlerischeild, Germany. This is the pottery studio where I taught and stayed.
Morsdorf, Germany. This is the home of one of the students who I stayed with for a few days after the workshop

Hi John,
This SamStone is at a bus stop on the West Bank Wall at Checkpoint
300.
This trip made me understand maybe 1% of the complexity of an occupied
territory and it is astonishing.
A hug
Luca

Nuringen, Germany. This is the home of a dear friend. I’ve done workshops for her studio many times. It’s a rooftop garden
Hvirring, Denmark. This is the home and studio of another friend who I’ve visited and done workshop for.
Placing the stones was emotional and joyful at the same time.
with best wishes,
Steven

John,
Sue and I had six days in Cornwall last week, and left a Sam Stone at St Mawes Castle, which was built to defend Falmouth Harbour from the Spanish – there is a sister fort at Pendennis on the other side of the estuary
