I placed a Samstone on April 28th near the top of Mt Si (in North
Bend, Washington). I left it among the rocks at the viewpoint where
hikers often take their lunch break.  Unfortunately my camera died so
no photo this time.

Dear John, Diana and family, finally I could place another SamStone in
the Alps during a short vacation on May 18, 2015. While we were
hiking, I climbed up a hill and found an old snag with a nice hole
under one of the roots. This is where I placed the SamStone. But
before I put it there I took a picture of the snag with the SamStone
on top of it so that you can see the nice scenery. And my husband took
a picture of me climbing up the hill (see top left)…but I guess
I’m too small to be recognized . The longitude of the SamStone is
about 10.391489, the latitude 47.525353 (or N 47°31′31.3”/ O
10°23′29.4”). I have one more SamStone left and will place it
on one of my next travels…maybe on the private trip to Sweden for

I received my Sam stone as a gift from a Vt. artisan store owner after
making a small buy, she placed it into my bag And, I am so happy that
she did. I love reading about Sam and his thirst for life and
enjoyment of his many hobbies. I was personally going through a rough
time having just recently lost both of my Grandparents within months
of one another to cancer. Sam’s message was a strong one for me.
Although losing someone we love hurts…we must move on and continue
to enjoy life as they undoubtedly would want us to do. Drink up every
minute and ‘eat the World’:) thank you so much for sharing Sam’s
journey with us and I pray that his message continues to touch more
lives everyday. I personally put my samstone in a mini rose bush
planter and often move the stone to different plants on my sun porch.
Whenever it catches my eye as I water the plant my heart smiles and
heals just a little bit more. Thank you and Sam so much for that gift.
