This Sam stone was left behind by John (Sam's father) after his
lecture for IBM to students at the Technical University of Delft
(Mekelweg 4, Delft, The Netherlands) on May 17th. I was part of the
audience that day and I laughed out loud listening to John's story
about his time in The Colony, And then came the story about Sam, how
he died and about the stones. It was a matter of seconds between the
laughing out loud state I was in and feeling a tear rolling down my
face. It is difficult to describe what it did to me, because it did so
many things at the same time. Of course the love of the parents for a
child they lost, organ donation, keeping Sam's legacy alive etc. I
left the stone where John placed it and hope that others would see it
and would visit this inspirational website. I bellieve it would have
been Sam's 21st birthday today so happy birthday Sam, you live on!

Hi Mr. and Mrs. Cohn,

It's been a couple of years now since I asked for SamStones, and it's
just now that I managed to travel the Philippines.

I have several of them, but for this specific trip I only brought
two.

The first photo was taken on Maria Aurora road (incomplete road, still
under construction, not many people go there yet). It was a mistake to
take this road, but it was a beautiful mistake since we saw lots of
beautiful places untapped by human hands. Three hours into the
mountains we found this cool stream and I decided that it was a great
place to place one SamStone. The place was very quiet, overlooking the
great mountains. (map here, somewhere around this mountain range
http://goo.gl/maps/Vlmns).

The fifth photo was taken at Mother Falls in Aurora Philippines. The
waterfalls was about 80 to 100 feet high and I placed one stone just
behind the waterfalls, there was this small compartment in there. The
water was very cold and clear.

We found our Samstone this winter at the Bolton Valley Ski Resort.  It
was placed on the sill of the lodge window.  We discovered it at the
end of a long day of skiing, as we were packing up our gear.  I'm not
sure why we decided to take it with us!  Normally, we would have left
something like that there, since it didn't belong to us. Perhaps it
was because there was a URL on the back that seemed to suggest that
there was more to the stone than just someone's lost item.  I put it
in my boot bag, intending to check out the URL when we got home, but
forgot.  Eventually, the stone was placed on my son's bookshelf…and
only now, May 27th, did I spy it and decide to check out the site.
Wow! I am so moved by this project and Sam's life.  This is coming to
me at a time that makes me appreciate the discovery even more.  Thank
you, mystery person who left the stone.

ps. gotta love the name Rotton Row !   Andy further wrote to say

Hi John,

There are several versions of where the name comes from – run down cottages infested with Rats, corruption of the Olde English word to Muster or another corruption of "Roundabout way"…..I like the Rat version best Lol

Cheers
Andy
