Indiana Dunes State Park – Indiana

Our freind Cheryl writes:
My friend Maggie and I took a Samstone to the Indiana Dunes State Park on July 25, 2011.  Sam would love this beautiful white sand beach, surrounded by sand dunes, dune grass, and located at the southern tip of Lake Michigan.   We planned to write Sam’s name on the shoreline and leave a stone there, but before I could even finish writing his name, a wave crashed his name away, darn.  So I wrote his name further up on a nice smooth surface of the beach and put a Samstone there and then Maggie snapped a photo of Sam, with me in the background.   We sat on the beach for a bit and a little girl spotted the Samstone and she picked it up and examined it carefully, but then tossed it back down on the sand, darn.  So then Maggie decided that she would re-write his name in another spot on the beach and entice a bird over with a cherry in the hopes the bird would pick up the cherry and the Samstone and take him to places unknown.  Well, as you can see from the photo, the bird snatched up the cherry, but left the Samstone.  So as we left the beach around noon, Sam was still sitting on the beach and just waiting to be discovered by someone visiting this beautiful beach in Chesterton, Indiana.
