Jerusalem – Wailing Wall
Hi John and Diane,
I finally had the opportunity to place Sam’s stone somewhere that I had been thinking of since you gave it to me. I’m not really sure how people post this information – I don’t have MySpace, Facebook, or whatever, and don’t know how they work, so let me just send you the pictures. Anyway, I had help from my son Adam (14) to place this stone – I had to give him a boost to reach the spot. Please view these in order, as they zoom out. (Adam is the lad in yellow t-shirt and hat with red backpack in images 1987, 1988). The actual spot was Adam’s idea – to be out in the sun, but out of reach so probably will stay for quite a while. In the future, we or others can check to see if it’s still there.
Ruth and our two daughters, Elana and Sarah, were with us on this trip and aware of my plans for this stone – in fact I had to borrow Sarah’s camera, because I’m stuck living in the past with my film camera – not easy to email. Our other son Ben was stuck home taking college final exams, but I showed this to him as well.
Anyway, this was very meaningful for all of us, and especially for Adam and me together at that moment. I just want you to know our thoughts are with you.
Sincerely, Dan and family.
