Camino de Santiago – Cruz de Ferro , Spain

John, two weeks ago my wife Johnine and I returned from Spain where we were Pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago. Our pilgrimage lasted 12 days and we walked 190 miles through northern Spain. Needless to say it was a great trip! Despite several rainy days where we trudged through the mud, we found the Spanish people delightful, the food and wine outstanding and the scenery awesome.

Part of the Camino is the

Cruz de Ferro, a large mounted cross high in the mountains. As part of our Catholic tradition one brings a rock from their home and places it at the foot-of-the-cross as a symbolic gesture. I wanted you to know that I left a SamStone there that I carried from my yard. It’s been a while since you gave me my first SamStone, however when I first learned of this tradition I thought immediately of you and your family.

Take care John and we’ll talk soon
