Delhi India
John,
The Samstone you gave me is not yet in place but wil soon be thanks to a young colleague of ours, Geeta Kumar, with whom I am working here since a year.
She was touched by the Samstones story and will see to it that gets deposited at the foot of a vase in the reception are of our India Research Lab, a fitting place for a stone in the memory an IBM Fellow’s son, I felt.
As soon as that is organized she will send me a picture to forward to you. Now if you want exact coordinates for the Samstones.org Googlemap, that is a lttle harder given the state of cartography down here.
But let me try: if you search for Delhi, India on Googlemaps you’ll land on a map that shows the Indira Gandhi International Airport if you zoom to some proper level.
The airport is bordered on its west side by a road called Gurgaon Road (in fact where we were meeting at IBM yesterday).
Just west of that road is another sort-of-parallel road which, if you zoom in to the right level is marked Nelson Mandella Road.
In between Gurgaon and Nelson Mandella roads is pretty empty space; this is where IRL has set up shop.
Googlemaps have not yet caught up with that but I attach a local map designed by some natives of here.
The IBM IRL lab is on the red ISID campus below, pretty exactly where the second I of ISID is on the map.
I am afraid I cannot be more precise than that without my GPS … which I left home since I was not going to drive 😉
I hope that is all fine with you.
Kind regards / Freundliche Grüsse / Cordialement
Phil
