Rome – Italy

Posted by: samstone @ 10:04 am

My good friend Fulvio placed a SamStone in a part of Rome that ius speciual to him. He wrote:

My dear John,
in a recent trip to Rome to visit my old mother I took a Samstone with me because I wanted to put it in a place which is dear to me.
I attach here more details about the place.
It is a tiny garden with beautiful trees, in the middle of a busy place, a memento of important history, and a very quiet place only open a couple of days a year when its historical past is remembered and celebrated.
I wanted you to know.
My best regards,
Fulvio

Lake Victoria – Tanzania

Posted by: samstone @ 1:41 pm

Name = Laura Fine-Morrison Email = laurafm@comcast.net Message = **third send attempt** Dear John – You walked up to me and handed me a Samstone at the temple at Burning Man this past summer. In December, I took it with me to Tanzania. In the small town of Bukoba, about 30km from the Ugandan border, I carried the stone down to the beach and threw it into Lake Victoria. I was surprised to find that I got somewhat choked up about letting it go. It was an emotional experience, even though I never met Sam and exchanged no more than a few words with you on the 2nd floor of the temple at BM. I have a photo of me with the stone just before throwing it in, and.a short MPG clip of it going into the water. Both were too large to attach here, but I can send them to you in email if you'd like. Best to you and this wonderful means you have found for keeping your son's memory alive. Laura Fine-Morrison Seattle, WA

A friend gave me a Sam Stone and told me the story behind it. I
placed the stone at Arethusa Falls, Crawford Notch State Park, New
Hampshire. It is on Rte. 302 about 7 miles west of Bartlett, N.H. and
7 miles south of Crawford Notch. It is the tallest waterfalls in the
state. I think Sam would have loved it there. The photo is a close-up
of the falls.
